The Beginning: When Plants Called Me Home
My journey into herbal medicine didn't begin in a classroom—it began in my grandmother's kitchen, watching her transform backyard weeds into healing teas. She knew which plants soothed fevers, which calmed anxious hearts, which supported women through life transitions. That folk wisdom planted seeds that would grow into a lifelong calling.
Years later, after witnessing loved ones struggle with pharmaceutical side effects and feeling disconnected from synthetic approaches to health, I returned to those roots. I pursued clinical herbalist training, studying botanical medicine, pharmacology, and therapeutic applications with the rigor of conventional healthcare.
But I also knew I needed more than book knowledge—I needed relationship with the plants themselves. So I bought land in Arkansas, broke ground on gardens, and began growing the herbs I would use in practice. Gaia's Garden Organics was born from this marriage of professional training and hands-in-soil connection.
